Scan for STL.
We use our industry-leading Nikon Metrology 3D laser scanners to capture a highly accurate point cloud and generate a STL model perfect for reference data, 3D printing and CNC machining.

Our scan to STL services are ideal for:
Streamlining the path to manufacturing
Capturing complex geometry and freeform objects
Can be used for 3D printing
Can be used for product renders
Can be used for inspection, measurements and reverse engineering
01.
Point Cloud
Point cloud.
A point cloud file contains a collection of data points recorded in a three-dimensional coordinate system. Point clouds are created using 3D scanning equipment that collects a large number of points from the object's surface and records their location in space (X,Y,Z).
Point clouds can be provided raw or with various post-processing levels—processes such as filtering and optimization help create a smaller file that is easier to work with.
02.
Mesh STL
Mesh STL.
Using our processing software, we can directly convert point cloud data into a mesh file (.STL). A mesh STL is a triangulated surface model recorded in a three-dimensional coordinate system most commonly seen in 3D printing. This process does require some post-processing of scanned point cloud data to optimize it for use with a mesh STL. Additional post-processing actions can be performed on mesh files, such as smoothing, de-featuring filling holes etc.
